The Neolithic period brought forth new inventions and technology; such as more advanced weapons and utensils. Not only just material things, but modern thoughts and ideas. We've become more modernized over time, but we still use their simple ideas. I think this period started near the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers because their was a water source, and there was fertile soil for farming. This was a prime place for settlers because of these two factors; as well as, hunting and gathering.

The Neolithic Period has an immense impact on us. As stated, Neolithic is a fancy word for agriculture. We participate in agriculture a lot. We have people who farm and we attend a class to participate in agriculture almost daily. We got more advanced tools such as spoons and bowls. Pottery and art were often found and is today. Like agriculture, we also have an art class. They started to build houses which is extremely common. They also came together which made worshiping one God easier and more efficient for the economy. Most of us here in Fleming, Colorado also practice that to this day.

I agree with what you said Luke. Do you think the reason that they period began by the Tigris and Euphrates river is because they need the water to make their crops grow. As long as their was water in the river and their crops were growing I think that they were happy.

I agree but they also settled by the rivers to water their animals.

I like how you connected the Neolithic Period and the influences it has with us to some of the classes we take today during school. What other classes do you think we could have that connects us to the Neolithic Period? Great job with you answer Luke. Good job explaining.

I'm kind of commenting on both of your answers, but by looking at Genesis, there is more as to why the Neolithic period begun here. According to the stories, there was four different rivers, two of which were the Tigris and Euphrates. I saw on the history channel that they found geological evidence of two skeleton rivers suggesting that this area was the location of the Garden of Eden, meaning that it was very fertile land.

The Neolithic Period had a huge impact on Southwest Asia. They were the ones to create utensils and kitchen wear that we use today. Throughout time it has civilized and because stronger and more dependable. They also taught us how to farm and raise livestock. They started it all along the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. Most agriculture started along rivers because you have to have plenty of water. If it weren't for the Neolithic period, there would be tons of people that live right around us that wouldn't have jobs because we wouldn't know how to farm. My family included.

I like how you stated that if it wasn't for the Neolithic Period that many around here and around the world would be jobless as agriculture is a huge part of sustaining our world

The Neolithic Period had many influences on Southwest Asia. The Neolithic Period created many of the utensils that are used today. The utensils have become more moderized over time to be more dependable for us to use. Agriculture has a big impact in Southwest Asia as well. It is used for trade and many other things today. Also Pottery and art are used today which is also from the Neolithic Period. I believe this period began near the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers because it was is a great water source. Also, there was fertile soil and farming. It was a great place for a lot of water fpr farming and for water the animals. Also, because of the water a lot of animal would come by for a drink which would make it a good place for hunting animals.

I definitely agree that a lot of our utensils that we have today did come from the Neolithic Period. Agriculture started to form around that time too. Because they were hunter's and gatherers before they settled down, they didn't have a lot of time to improve the things that they had. Do you think that settling down made it easier for them to improve what they had? Do you think that settling down gave them a lot of down time, so they started making pottery?

I really liked how you stated that the rivers did not only help their agriculture but that it also helped their hunting as wild animals used it as a water source. Do you think the Neolithic Period would have begun there if the rivers were no=t as reliable and there was not much fertile silt?

Many people were known as hunters and gatherers. These type of people would constantly move around; they never had a certain place to live. Later on, people started to settle down near water. Settling around water made it a lot easier to raise livestock and crops. This is where agriculture began to take form. This was the beginning of the Neolithic Period. Once they had settled down, the people had more time on their hands, so they had more time to make improvements on their materials. Before the Neolithic Period, people had tools and weapons, but they weren't very good. The Neolithic Period changed Southwest Asia. Once this period started, the tools and weapons became more advanced and more efficient. Utensils were even formed, they made lots of things like spoons. We use similar but more advanced tools, weapons, and utensils to this day. Almost everything we own was first invented during periods like the Neolithic Period. We still see agriculture to this day, and we have lots of tools, weapons, and utensils. All these things started to take form during the Neolithic Period. The Tigris and Euphrates rivers were the center of the Neolithic Period. This is because water is a very important thing that people need. All agriculture depends on water, so when people decided to settle down, they needed to settle near water to survive. Being near the two large rivers allowed people to grow food and raise livestock. The rivers would bring in a lot of fertile soil. This is why the Neolithic Period started around those two rivers.

The Neolithic Period had a huge impact on Southwest Asia in multiple ways. The most important impact of this period was that the Neolithic Period sort of started agriculture. At the time, almost everyone in Southwest Asia were hunters and gatherers, so they were constantly moving to keep up with the traveling herds of animals that they relied on for a food source. Once agriculture was introduced to the region, civilians were able to settle down and build communities as they could raise crops and livestock to feed themselves on a constant basis instead of chasing herds of wild animals. Since people were starting to build communities, they were also able to advance many of their utilities, weapon, and other tools. They were able to make more advanced weapons than they had before. They were also able to develop utensils like spoons, forks, and bowls. We can still see the influences of this period because we used utensils just like they did, and we also use weapons, although they are more technologically advanced. We also rely heavily upon agriculture as they did once they settled down. I believe this period started near the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers because the constant supply of water from these rivers was essential to raising crops and livestock. Also, near the rivers, there was an abundance of fertile silt which was necessary to the growth of prosperous crops.

The neolithic period had a great impact on southwest Asia. It brought useful tools that made life easier for people. We use modified versions of the tools they used, to make our lives easier. I think that the reason the neolithic period started near the two rivers is because, fertile land made it easy to grow crops and animals lived near by because of the water

The neolithic period had many impacts on southwest asia.instead of hunting and gathering, people no longer had to move around and follow the herds of animals in order to survive. Until agriculture was established, they were unable to find enough food if they were not constantly hunting and gathering, as it was their only supply of food. Once the region discovered agriculture, they were able to stay in one place and live off of the land instead of moving around to be able to find food, because they could now grow their own food. This made it easier for them to settle down and build communities with lots of people with which they could trade and interact with to benefit a whole group of people. With the big communities that followed the discovery of agriculture, they were able to make more advanced tools and weapons along with better utilities. They started to develop useful utensils like spoons, forks, and bowls. Although our weapons today have more technology in them, our weapons are improved versions of theirs as well as our utensils. Just as they did, we rely on agriculture to survive. I believe that this period started near the tigris and euphrates rivers because the water was essential to growing crops and livestock, and the fertile silt helped to grow crops.

The neolithic period was very different and nowadays were are way more complex and advanced. In the Neolithic period they had hunters and gatherers, and they had to stalk all of their animals because that was all of their food source. They then found agriculture. This was a huge change and step for this period. With agriculture they got to use the land for food and water not just spears and arrows. This made it easier for the people to settle down and build little villages and communities. With the finding of agriculture would be the big settlements, and then within those communities would be the new knowledge of advanced technology. Tools, utensils, and even weapons would be known of. They had the biggest impact because of the agriculture and the way they settle next to huge water sources like the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers.
