Europeans have seen fit to colonize lesser areas of the world for centuries. Being so advanced, there is a varying degree of support of these colonizers. But Africa has both been raised and torn down by this system. Europe has always been advancing quickly technologically. With this are better ways to live. Africans are able to take advantage of this as part of a European colony. But being rulers like others, the Europeans want to keep their power. This involves slavery, classes, and low income jobs. Slavery though isn't to blame from just Europeans. Many conquering tribes in Africa would send their victims to the Europeans and sell them into slavery. Blacks selling blacks, as viewed from a European standpoint. But even so, there was enough supply and demand that Europeans are by no means innocent. But I wouldn't want to be colonized by anyone else than a European nation because of all of the advancements they bring. Instead of progressing from these influences, tribal and other cultural aspects still dominate African life. Europe and the West are still looked to as the highest bar, and what they do will effect the world.

Nice job explaining your answer and I would just like to add that as I am doing South Africa for my project, I learned that they were colonized by Europe. Looking at them today, they are one of the richest and most econmically stable countries in Africa. Leave a Reply. |
