Europe has attracted people practically since they have been around. A major reason of this is because Europe has some of the best farming land in the world. Farming is important, because as the world's population increases, the demand for food increases. They also have many forests. Forests have been very important because we build houses and ships out of trees, and use wood for paper. Being able to transport goods by the sea has benefitted Europe for a long time. Rivers in Europe have also been very important to its success. Also, ships allowed Europeans to cross the ocean and settle new lands and even conquer others. Back to the rivers, they were also a source of water. Europe also has a lot of natural beauty, for example, the Giant's Crossway (At least I think that is what they are called) in Ireland. As for what country I would like to go to, I would probably agree with Italy. I love fruits and vegetables as well as pasta, and the climate is cold and miserable in the winter. Italy also has beaches, and even mountains to the north which offer a lot of activities. I am also attracted to Italy's rich history. I also want to live somewhere were my surroundings are green.
I really agree with you that farmland is one of the biggest, if not the biggest reason that Europe has been able to attract people for a long time. I like how you pointed out that their forests, contributing to their ship building, had allowed them to ship goods by sea and settle new lands as well. Would you be glad that going to Europe you could feel more reassured that you could go to the doctor if anything happened because of their nationalized healthcare?
I totally agree with you that farming is a huge reason for Europe being so big. I know if my family was looking for somewhere to live we would have considered Europe just for the farm land. Farming is so important to our world and we couldn't live without it.
Do you think that growing your own food is better, or do you think that it is better to trade something for your food?
I really like your answer Emily! I love reading your answers because I always learn something from them. For example, I didn't know that the Giant's Crossway was in Italy (I bet everyone except me knew that). You definitely did a great job explaining everything in detail. I really like how you explained how important farming is and how important the rivers and forests are. Do you think you will visit Italy later in your life? I also really like it when "my surrounding are green".
Emily, your comments are right on, I too would like to visit Italy for one it is shaped like a boot which reminds me of my favorite movie Puss and Boots. I wonder what the wrestlers are like in Italy? You also brought up farming and trade which are important for any country. You also brought up the forests which are important for Housing and paper products, I would like to visit Italy in the summer when it is warm and lay on a beach. Have you been to Italy?
Laying back on the beach would be awesome! Trying the new foods and ways of life would be a new, but great experience.
Europe's physical geography contributes to the humans geography in so many different ways. One way it benefits us is by the number of forests Europe contains. The trees that are in the forest are so helpful to use humans. It helps us make some of houses and boats. When we have boats it makes it easier for us to trade with them. Also, Europe has some good farming land which is also beneficial to other countries for trade as well. Another example is the sea. It is good for the boats and for humans to go fishing. Europe is such a beautiful place that there are so many pretty places to choose from, but if I had to choose, I would live in Iceland for two weeks. The reason why I choose this is because not only is it a beautiful place, it has many other great qualities. It is very warm and I love warm weather! I hate the cold! Also, Iceland is know for fishing, and I love to fish. I think it is very fun and I also love eating fish. Iceland is farther away form all the other places in Europe, and I love that. I don't like being around a lot of people because I am always around my large big family, and I would like not to be around so many people. Another reason is because Iceland is the fourth happiest county, I would love to be around a happy county and happy people. This way I might not be so stressed all the time. Iceland would be a great place to live for two weeks.
Lauryn, I really enjoyed reading your answer. I fully agree with what you said about the physical geography contributing to the human geography. I especially liked that you talked about the forest area, and the trading. Great answer!
I like how you explained all the different ways and some examples of why. The forestry is a good point cause I didn't think about all the boats and houses they need to build with the wood. the fishing industry would not be as good without all the forestry.
Europe has attracted people to its country for a long time. They attract a lot of people by the numerous job offers. They have many forests so you could get a job cutting down the wood, processing it, selling it, or building something out of it like a house to home more people. You also could get a job farming or working with a farmer.Europe has many farmers and a lot of farm land. You can also get a job in selling or trading resources with other countries. i would want to o to Rome because it is their capital. Their would be many beautiful sights and tourist destinations.
Rome is not the capital of Europe but it is the capital of Italy. Is that the country that you would want to visit? Why or what other country do you want to visit?
Europe's physical geography has been contributing to its human geography for so many years and in so many ways. One of the big ways is that Europe has many dense forests. The people of Europe can use the forests in multiple ways. They use the trees for building houses and other buildings; they are used for building ships, and they are used for the production of paper as well. Being able to build ships from the wood, Europe was able to sail the oceans which in turn allowed them to increase their trading empire, and it also allowed them to increase their empire and conquer the new world that was unknown to most. Another reason Europe has been attracting people for so long is because they have such prosperous and rich farmland. If I could go anywhere in Europe for two weeks, I would probably choose to go to Italy. I love Italian food, and Italy offers such a diverse range of activities from things in the mountains to having fun in the sun on their various beaches. That is why I would most likely choose to go to Italy.
I just loved your comment! I especially loved how you explained how europes physical geography has contributed to its human geography for so many years. Great job!
Like Alex explained, europe has heavy forests. This helps them build houses for the growing population and provide paper for many people. When it comes to trading, they used these forests to provide them with enough lumber to produce ships that helped them trade with other countries more efficiently by being able to cross oceans with greater ease. The farmland is also a bonus for europe. It is very fertile and great for producing crops. Like Alex, i would also choose to go to italy. I too love italian food and i would love to go there and scope out the ladies!
Europe is home to 9% of the world's population and the UK is occupied by 12% of forest. This topic has been discussed throughout this essential question, but I think this also could have something to do with the longer lifespan in Europe. There's more fresh air circulating their area than there is in America. Along with what others said, such as using the wood from the trees to build varies things like homes and boats. If I was to go anywhere in Europe, for two weeks, I think I'd like to go to Eastbourne. Eastbourne is a large town on the south coast of England. It's very beachy and claimed to be the sunniest place in Great Britain.
I agree with you that it could be the fresh air that helps the health of the people around it live longer.
Human geography is one of the two major sub-fields of geography. Human geography is part of the social sciences that studies the world, its people, communities and cultures. Human geography differs from physical geography mainly in that it has a greater focus on studying human activities. Europe has a lot of farming involved with it's daily life. It has many forests that can be used for different supplies. There is many beautiful houses and sights that are built from all kinds of wood from the forests. Many more people will be able to live in Europe because of the amount of homes there. The forests can also help Europe with trading because many countries will need and want the plants and wood from Europe.
If I could go anywhere in Europe for two weeks, I would go to Greece because all of the sights that it has to offer to people. There are many temples that people still visit. There is also mountains, plains, and forests that attract people. The Parthenon is where many people would go to worship. It is a huge temple that many tourist visit.
I really like your answer. Your answer is very detailed. I like how you went into detail about what the forests can be used for, and I also like how you explained how important farming is and how it is involved in everyday life. You also did a great day explaining Europe's trading with other countries! I think that going to Greece is a great choice!!! I think that Greece would be a cool place to visit in the future. The Parthenon would be a really cool place to see. I went and saw the replica of the Parthenon that they have in Tennessee, and it was so cool. I can't even imagine how the one in Greece would look. I hope some day you can visit Greece!!!!!
Europe has a lot of different terrains, and these contribute to our human geography. About one third of Europe is farmland. Farming is a very large part of everyone's life. Even if they don't farm, it still plays a huge role in their life. People live off of what farmers grow and produce. Having about one third of farm land is a large portion compared to what other countries have, and we are very lucky to have that because without Europe's farmland, the world would not have enough food to feed the constantly growing population.
Europe also have a lost of forest land. Forests provide us with a lot of wood. Wood helps us build things like ships and paper. Every school in the world uses paper, so Europe is a large provider of that. Wood also helps keep people warm if they have a wood burning fire place.
Having access to rivers is a large advantage to Europe as well. Using those rivers helps them transport goods and other cargo to where it needs to go. They also make it easier for Europe to conquer other land and other territories that they wouldn't be able to reach without rivers, so they help Europe expand their borders.
If I could go anywhere for two weeks based on physical geography, I would go to Czech Republic. I love mountains and forests because they seem so quiet and peaceful, and Czech Republic has a lot of forests. It also has a lot of pastures and crop land. I love how beautiful forests, pastures, and even crop land can look. In a heart beat, I would pick to visit Czech Republic for two weeks.
