The genocide happening within Africa and many other countries is very devastating. In 1994, an event called the Rwandan Genocide occurred killing hundreds of thousands of people and more recently the killing of whites within southern Africa. Currently there are 200+ girls being held by a terrorist organization called Boko Harem, and Boko Harem is killing the people of Nigeria in the name of God. I feel in many cases the United States gets involved in affairs it doesn't need to be involved in. In fact many times I feel this has been the case, but in the case with Boko Harem however, I feel that we and the surrounding nations should get involved. The Nigerian people are begging for help from anyone who's willing. I think the United States needs to definitely pick our battles. Our military is strong, but sending our brave men and women into futile causes isn't logical tactically, financially and etc., but I feel that if we don't put an end to Boko Harem's terror now, they will become our problem as well.

Boko Harem is anti West, and are no friends of the U.S. I like the part where you said we need to pick our battles. Yes we do! We get to involved over seemingly trivial or unnecessary conflicts, some which have led to war. But this is an interesting and extreme terrorist instance. I think investigations, diplomatic and economic sanctions should come first. Still, a bullet may be required.

Genocide is unacceptable and immoral. No doubts about that. But the U.S. in my opinion shouldn't be the worlds police force. Genocide would be one of the circumstances in which I would contradict that. We as Americans don't need to be involved in every political or militarily action that happens across the world. We should stop, to put it bluntly, sticking our noses in everyone's business. As moral people, we do though have a responsible in extreme circumstances. Notice the extreme. WW2 was a great example of this extreme. I also am not sure if sending in troops is the best idea. Soldiers pressure everybody involved in the situation, and can lead to violent quick acts because of scared regimes we are trying to take down. Diplomatic and economic standpoints should first be tried. There are instances where nothing is going to help, but a bullet. So a progression of these steps is needed to best fix the situation.

I agree with both of your answrs and feel as though I understand this question better now. Do you think that any other nations might get involved on either side?

I think any nation with Radical Muslim groups could be involved.

I think that the people in the USA should react to genocide because we would want the other countries to step in and help us if their was genocide in the USA. I think we should send in help but first we should ask them if they want it. We should also consider if we would make it worse by fighting with someone else who was trying to help.
